CaliQuilter is a quilt pattern company dedicated to designing a variety of projects that will satisfy the beginner as well as the experienced quilter. Our patterns are based on classic designs that have been updated with a fresh, modern twist. All patterns are extensively tested to ensure that your project can be completed successfully and will be an enjoyable experience.
I have always loved fabric and the creative process of turning simple pieces of fabric into something beautiful. I have been a quilter for the last 25 years but have been sewing since the age of 10, when my mom first taught me the art of clothing construction. Quilting has been a natural extension of my love of art and obsession with fabrics. Quilting is my creative therapy in the midst of a very busy household.
When I first discovered Flickr virtual quilting bees and the blogging community, I was amazed! I found this energetic, generous and inspirational group of quilters who were quick to share their knowledge and who became a great source of inspiration. I decided that I wanted to be a part of this amazing community, and I haven’t looked back since. I began blogging about my adventures in 2009 and have made so many wonderful friends.
I have enjoyed designing my own quilt blocks and quilt designs for many years. Two of my friends encouraged me to start sharing those designs and CaliQuilter was born. I happily work from my sewing room which has become my design studio, workroom and business headquarters. I love the time I spend in this creative space.
I am inspired by the Modern Quilt Movement and the fresh, bold colors of modern quilting fabrics. I particularly love dreaming up new ways to update traditional quilt blocks, giving them a modern twist. I hope you will browse my virtual studio and find something that inspires you here.
