Wonky Log Cabin

In the Round Robin bee I am in, Corey asked for a wonky log cabin block. She asked for an asymmetrical center, and log cabin style strips sewn around concentrically.  This is what I made:

I love the colors she has chosen. She asked that we pull the colors from the multicolored polka dot fabric she sent along. The colors are very summery and remind me of sherbet ice cream. Here is my block with hers:

I am looking forward to seeing this quilt when it has been set together. Corey isn’t sure whether she will put a sashing between these blocks, or whether she will just put them together for a riot of color. Either way it will be lots of fun.

A Tree for Jen’s Forest

I have been absent recently here in blog land because I have been sewing like crazy on two important projects…both completed! Yea! Photos to follow.

Today I completed a block for Jen in the Bee Unique bee. She asked for a tree block and this is mine…

I have to admit that I have never sewn a zig-zag applique before but I loved how quick and easy this went together. I love the “wood grain” fabric Jen sent for the truck of the tree. Such a cute idea!
